Westcomb Outerwear, the award-winning designer of performance outdoor apparel, will balance out their collection of high altitude designs with numerous high style looks for fall 2013.
“These new pieces use the same ingredients from Westcomb’s most advanced designs, configured into unique profiles with a distinct urban sensibility,” said Alan Yiu, president and lead designer for Westcomb Outerwear. “As with every Westcomb garment, these designs are created individually to deliver specific benefits to the end user. And those benefits definitely include the look and feel of the piece.”
Westcomb urban designs begin with two new parka styles. For women, the Dakota Hoody blends expedition-grade 900 fill Hutterite down with the urban styling of a women’s long parka. Designed for use as a layer or on its own, the Dakota delivers fit, style and on-body performance. ($450).
For men, the hooded Pemberton Parka protects from your head to your knees without the weight. Breathable yet wind and waterproof, the Pemberton uses Schoeller C-Change to lock out winter elements. For maximum insulation, high loft 900-fill power Hutterite down locks in body heat. The Pemberton has an adjustable fixed hood and a high collar with velour-lined chin-guard and wind guard. ($600)
Two modern jackets continue the urban trend, with the Fullerton Jacket for men bringing the brilliant outdoor performance ofPolartec® NeoShell® to a modern cut. The Fullerton walks the line between urban and outdoor, with a waterproof, windproof and breathable package that also offers exceptional flexibility and an extended range of motion. ($400)
The counterpart to the Fullerton is the Soho … a similarly sleek cut made with Schoeller® C Change® Wool for superior stretch, movement and weather protection. With a wooly exterior hand, a Schoeller® membrane and a jersey backing, the Soho looks as great as it performs. (525g/18oz, $500)
And on the leading edge of the sweater trend, Westcomb’s new Glow Pullover for women blends bold colors, inspired design, and ultra soft hand. The cashmere-like feel comes from Polartec® Classic® 100 Micro Luxe, which delivers quick-drying properties that only synthetic fabrics can offer. At just 9 ounces, this performance pullover boasts a casual hood with draw cord, a wide waistband and cuffs and a kangaroo-style pouch (255g/9oz, $120).
