Features

Fixed Storm Hood - The 3-point adjustable hood is roomy enough to wear over a helmet, yet cinches comfortably down when worn without one. Bungee cord on each side of the hood and a third in back simply adjust with one-handed ease, keeping your other hand ready for the unexpected.

Adjustable waist system - Easy to adjust with one hand; just pull the cinch-cord within the hand pockets to lock out the elements. Press the one-handed release on the outside hem to loosen the jacket back up.

Internal media pocket - Easy to access pocket keeps your MP3 player, iPhone, or other valuables secure and dry.

High collar with Velour lined chin-guard - Provides comfort and protection from the elements for your neck and face.

Velcro cuff closure - Keeps wind and rain from creeping in right at the wrists.

Construction

280 NR eVent® (ePTFE) with DWR - A lightweight, durable, water & wind proof fabric with industry leading breathability. Westcomb’s lightest eVent fabric.

560 NST eVent® (ePTFE) with DWR - Super durable water & windproof nylon fabric with industry leading breathability.

YKK PU zippers - Provide smooth operation with watertight performance. Reduces weight by eliminating the need for storm flaps.

20 SPI - 20 stitches per inch exceed industry standards by at least 2x. This higher SPI allows for a lighter, yet stronger fabric seam giving a lifetime of wear and tear while reducing weight as additional topstitching isn’t needed.

Micro Seam Taping - Creates the thinnest waterproof boundary while creating a more pliable seam without the added weight.

Laminated zippers, waist hem & wrist hem - Super durable fabric adhesive affixes these critical areas, creating waterproof, stitch-less, lightweight seams with weld-like durability and ultra clean aesthetics.

Articulated sleeves - Integrated strategic pocket areas allowing for unrestricted movement in any position.

Dear Westcomb, Not only are your products consistently on my must-have dream-list, but your people are awesome too! I was in the new East Van location today (it is awesome BTW) and met Mark, your customer service/warranty fellow. Let me say he is the single most friendly and nicest customer service person I have ever met! As if I didn't need another reason to love your company! Please give him a raise. Or a cake. Or a cake raised on a pedestal...made of cheques...that represent a raise...

"The one item I saw that really opened up my imagination this show? Always a surprise what that "ONE" piece of gear might be. Last summer it was the new Scarpa Rebel Ultra. This show surprisingly it was the new Arcane Hoody from the Canada's Westcomb. Sewn at home. A stretch Shoeller super light weight soft shell, fully water proof and breathable with taped seams and 180g of Primaloft. This thing is going to make the Duelly obsolete. And almost half the retail price! It is NUMBER ONE on my hit list right now. " http://coldthistle.blogspot.com/2013/02/winter-or-2013.html

  • Rain oh Rain. Love you we do......Especially when you feed our rivers and irrigate our local crops. Unfortunately, getting wet when not on the river is a bum deal. Stop by before you head to the Farmers Market of the Ozarks tomorrow or into the unknown this weekend and check out rain gear from Arc'teryx, Patagonia, Marmot, Mountain Hardwear, Westcomb Outerwear and more. These jackets and pants are fantastic for the outdoors but just as good for the parking lot.

I bought the Apoc jacket. It's awesome! Wore it all winter downhill and cross country skiing. Wore it in a thunderstorm in Miami, FL. Stayed dry, stayed warm. Worth the price. Had a small problem with the jacket after 3 months. Sent it back in to customer service. Replaced the jacket. No hassels. Mark Manns in customer service took care of the issue. All around quality jacket and company. Looking at buying the ski pants this fall.

  • Tyler J. Riggs
Hey, guys - I have a problem... *** Let me preface this issue by extending my sincerest thanks for producing the most stellar outerwear the world has ever seen. I picked up a couple pieces of your gear on a whim two years ago and have never looked back. You earned yourselves a lifetime customer here. I've never been so pleased with any other manufacturer (in several years of backcountry activities that push outerwear to the limit). I've even converted a couple long-time M****ain H***wear and P***onia fans with the supreme excellence of my Westcomb gear. *** SO......... My Vapor jacket has been, by FAR, the best shell I've ever owned. It has been my constant companion and protected me from harm through the gnarly North Cascades, Mt. Rainier, the rains of the Oregon coast, the hippies of Nelson, BC, the winds of the Dakotas, the harsh sun of Mauna Kea's summit, and everywhere between. I never leave the house without it. BUT, I seem to have blown out a weld on the pit zip (or something). I don't know how it happened, but the poor Vapor's layers seem to be working themselves apart. Oh, my poor little gray buddy! What do I do?! Can this be repaired? This jacket isn't just a piece of outerwear to me. It's part of my LIFE! It's like family. but...now it's not waterproof and I can't take it into the mountains anymore. I'm too afraid of damaging it further. Is there ANYTHING we can do? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Happy trails, - T.J.R. [super satisfied customer who has reached a minor speedbump]

I've had several Westcomb garments this season and just got a Switch Lt neoshell. I've owned a lot of technical outdoors wear in my time, but Westcomb has the best fit out of anything I can remember. As a size M, the neoshell in particular feels like it was tailored for me, and somehow I can jam a heavy down layer underneath without feeling like a huge marshmallow. At the same time, it has a perfect slightly loose fit for a warm weather rain shell. Excellent job on the "true fit".
